Topic for Introductory Historiography Paper

One of the challenges of researching and writing about history is to find a new idea or topic that has not been written about before.  Other examples of historical writings could be developing challenges to existing scholarship or new supporting evidence to established interpretations.  This paper is intended to introduce you to research and analysis of other historians’ interpretations or arguments of that topic.  You will put forth a thesis on that topic while introducing historical analysis and controversies of your chosen topic and how interpretations may have changed over time.   I will be asking you to submit in paragraph format your topic interest and any tentative research you have discovered through your research to turnitin.com so I can approve it.   The due date for your topic idea is 11/08/12.
